About the Role

The Grant Developer plays a key role in building strategic relationships with the University community to identify, promote and support the development of quality grant applications to capitalise on competitive research funding opportunities for UniSA.

With responsibility for the allocation of resources to ensure the provision of strategic and proactive advice and service to researchers you will have a hands-on approach in supporting researchers in grant development. You will ensure research grant applications fulfil the requirements of funding schemes, are of a high quality, competitive, and meet key deadlines.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide respected and accessible strategic advice, mentoring and guidance to researchers across UniSA
  • Collaborate to identify research grant and funding opportunities for researchers that will support their career aspirations
  • Manage and support the development of grant and funding submissions and steward project applications and awards through to the research contracting stage
  • Manage and implement strategies for equitable grant development support to applicants for research funding schemes
  • Provide exceptional customer service through engagement with researchers and stakeholders, including valued partners to facilitate a productive and collaborative approach to research grant development

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and significant experience in grant development, writing and editing
  • Experience in planning, developing and writing/editing external research funding applications and proposals or technical materials of a research nature
  • Experience in and knowledge of current developments in the Australian research landscape, research policy and practice, national and internal funding schemes and an ability to translate these into building research income and impact
  • Capability to build and manage productive networks with Government agencies, diverse industry sectors, research organisations and not for profit sectors
  • Ability to listen and assess the needs of clients, and experience in providing constructive feedback, advice and recommendations to a diverse range of stakeholders in a research context
