Emotional Wellbeing Lab

  • Gain a range of research, administrative, and leadership skills working on a large, multidisciplinary research project focused on improving mental health
  • Excellent experience for people considering a PhD in psychology and/or master’s of clinical psychology (or related degrees) in the future
  • 2x positions (part-time or full-time; 1.4 FTE to be shared), fixed-term appointment for 1 year and renewable upon agreement of employee and supervisor
  • Salary range: Level 5 $72,531 – $80,391 p.a. pro-rated plus 17% superannuation  
  • Start date between June and December 2022 (to be negotiated)

About the team  

The School of Psychological Science deliver a world-class research and education experience to approximately 5000 undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students. The School is research intensive with internationally recognized expertise in Human Factors, Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Perception, Cognition, Developmental Psychology, Social and Personality Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Clinical Neuropsychology.

The Emotional Wellbeing Lab focuses on emotional processes as they relate to depression, anxiety and wellbeing. Much of the research incorporates heart rate variability to examine emotion regulation in real time in daily life.

About the opportunity  

You will help manage, organise, and implement the day-to-day tasks for a large NIH-funded study.  You will have the opportunity to work with a local and international team of collaborators to facilitate successful completion of the study.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in psychology or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Relevant research and analytic/statistical experience
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with research participant community members
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team

Please note: Some afterhours work, and occasional weekend work may be required
