  • Full time casual role until end of Dec 2022

  • HEO5 Step 1 $54.56 per hour

About the opportunity

The Governance Support Officer performs general administrative support under general direction including preparing documents, maintaining records, updating web materials, responding to queries, exploring matters, and sourcing solutions etc. for the work area.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • provide general administrative services and operational support to the Secretariat

  • coordinate diaries, meetings and events and provides conference support for the work area

  • maintain records, finance/accounting support and reporting for the work area

  • undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities

You have

  • certificate IV in business administration or equivalent with relevant business administration experience

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service

  • demonstrated ability to achieve objectives, working in accordance with defined systems and procedures. Ability to adapt with and improve current systems and procedures

  • well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills

  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods

  • numeracy skills together with experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking and managing invoice payments and purchases

  • working knowledge of software programs such as Concur, UniBuy, Records Management, and Content Management Systems

  • understanding of or ability to acquire understanding of, higher education management and related issues. Ability to recognise priorities and understand the interlocking responsibilities of governance and committees
