  • Full-time, Continuing position  

  • HEW 6 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements 

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University 


 


About The Role/You 
The Governance & Quality Senior Officer will be responsible for providing high level professional support to College committees, support the student complaints and appeals processes and provide administrative support to other governance-related functions where necessary. The role will ensure the program and course lifecycle processes follow an efficient and compliant governance process.


The successful candidate will oversee Committee meetings and elections, and support student  appeals and provide policy and process advice. You will have strong administration skills, be comfortable liaising with a range of stakeholders within the University and possess excellent communication skills.

Experience in the application of governance principles and standard committee procedures, including minute taking are essential for this role. 


 


To be successful in this position, you will have: 


  • Demonstrated administrative experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector, with experience in the preparation of minutes and reporting on arising issues. 

  • Sound knowledge of administrative procedures relating to committees, formal voting processes, governance protocols, program and course development approvals and student complaints and appeals. 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation. 

  • Demonstrated organisational ability and time management skills, and ability to process, distribute and file a high volume of committee documents to set deadlines. 

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new procedures and guidelines to contribute to organisational efficiency  

  • Demonstrated proficiency in various software packages. 

  • A proactive approach to problem solving and a demonstrated ability to contribute effectively in a team

The Group’s end-to-end professional support ensures a consistent approach to the operational and strategic functioning of the College and adherence to University policies and procedures. 


  


The STEM College Office professional staff are instrumental in providing students with a transformative and enriched learning experience, and in supporting our research and engagement administration activities. Centralised in the STEM College Office, at our City and Bundoora campuses, professional staff members have opportunities to cross-skill, engage in professional development and develop their own career paths.
