The role & key responsibilities

The position is responsible for supervising and carrying out maintenance works in Hanoi campus to ensure all maintenance issues are resolved properly and in customer-oriented manners. The General Maintenance Handyman is also responsible for providing facilities arrangement to all events on campus.

- Carry out scheduled maintenance works including facilities, room checks and ground checks.

- Attend to the maintenance requests in a timely manner.

- Provide supports to event and exam arrangements

- Perform minor troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments of works related mainly to electrical and HAVC and partially to mason and construction independently to ensure business continuity and minimal impact on safety, security, and hygiene for the University community.

- Ensure preventive, corrective, and minor works carried out by outsourced contractor to be completed at high quality and minimal impact on safety, security, and hygiene for the University community.

- Other works as directed by the Facilities Coordinator (or Operations Manager, North)

     

Key selection criteria

  • Relevant technical training certificate in electrical/ air-con or building facilities system.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the same position or equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience in running similar system in 4- or 5-star hotel or Grade A/ B office building or University Campus

  • Demonstrate experiences in carrying out preventive and minor corrective works (electrical/ mechanical or HAVC system)

  • Ability to solve problems and work within constant time

  • Basic IT skills including use of email, MS office, internet software

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Basic conversational English skill

English proficiency requirements

If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard, equivalent to IELTS (General) 3.0.  RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a Linguaskills test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.
