The Future Student Engagements team is dedicated to reaching out to prospective students and their influencers, providing them with essential information about tertiary education opportunities. As the Future Student Outreach Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to engage with prospective students, primarily focusing on students in Years 7-9.

What you’ll do: 

  • Collaborate with ECU Schools to co-design and develop outreach resources targeting students in Years 7-9, aligning with STEM and HASS curriculum where possible.
  • Utilize developed resources to conduct interactive workshops through high school incursions and on-campus immersive experience days.
  • Work with the Student Ambassador Program (STARs) to identify and train current ECU students for deploying outreach resources effectively.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative evaluations to assess awareness and aspirations regarding higher education and perceptions of potential study pathways.
  • Undertake a scoping exercise with internal and external stakeholders, under the guidance of the Manager, Future Student Engagements, to explore the nature and benefits of future outreach programs.

Key Criteria:
  • Previous experience in designing, developing, and deploying educational resources particularly in STEM and HASS subjects for high school students.
  • Ability to present information in a concise, understandable, and engaging manner to diverse audiences, with a focus on students in Years 7-9.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with diverse key stakeholders, including ECU School staff, heads of learning areas (HOLAs), and careers counsellors.
  • Experience of training students to deliver educational resources effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to plan and executive bespoke outreach/educational programs.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluating outreach/education programs using appropriate methodologies. 
  • Flexibility and proactive approach in a small team environment. 

Specific requirements:
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Willingness to undertake travel as required.
  • Capacity to perform tasks involving manual handling of materials and light equipment.
  • Valid Working with Children Check.

Undergraduate teaching or equivalent qualification or progress towards undergraduate qualifications and a strong understanding of the West Australian education sector will be highly regarded.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time fixed-term contract position attracts remuneration of $88,973 – 95,993 per annum plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
