CSIRO’s Governance Business Unit is seeking an experienced and passionate Fraud Control Advisor to join the team and truly make a difference!

You will play a key role contributing to the ongoing enhancements of CSIROs fraud and corruption control and prevention strategies.  This is a diverse opportunity that will allow you to leverage on your current experience and expand professionally as you are involved in a range of BaU tasks and projects including but not limited to, supporting the coordination, updates and delivery of CSIROs fraud control governance education and awareness programs, and applying an exceptional understanding and compliance with associated fraud control Commonwealth Legislation, policy, risk and standards.


Your duties will include:
  • Supporting strategic policy direction and management of operational elements for CSIRO’s Fraud Control function
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external leadership to support CSIRO’s Fraud and Corruption Control Framework
  • Enhancing and maintaining Fraud analytics capability and reporting systems
  • Compilation of fraud risk and control data, providing cyclic reports to the Fraud Control Manager and preparation of other internal and external fraud control reporting as necessary Undertake or manage initial assessment/investigation of alleged fraud matters in line with relevant requirements, standards, and internal CSIRO procedures
  • Contribute to the maintenance and application  of CSIRO’s Fraud Risk Assessment and Fraud and Corruption Control Plan program
  • Supporting CSIRO Business Units and external providers to ensure the successful delivery of fraud control projects and initiatives

Location: Melbourne preferred, other AU CSIRO sites will be considered.

Salary: AU$102,724k - AU$111,165k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:
  • Qualifications in Government Investigations and/or Fraud Control or a related field, such as a Certificate IV in Government Investigations and/or intelligence or their equivalent and relevant experience in fraud investigations, intelligence analysis
  • A contemporary knowledge of and extensive demonstrated experience in fraud compliance and prevention strategies and proven experience maintaining a current knowledge of Commonwealth Fraud Control and Investigations strategies and methodologies.
  • Ability to evaluate, interpret and synthesise complex information and draw logical conclusions and linkages.
  • Ability to work autonomously, and to collaborate with Business Unit/Functional leadership to deliver often complex outcomes involving multiple stakeholders
  • A practical knowledge and understanding of Fraud and Corruption Control legislation, standards and best practice with an ability to apply this knowledge across CSIRO
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking complex fraud investigations or other investigations, or the demonstrated ability to analyse information in line with contributing to the outcome of an investigation

Eligibility
