Curtin University provides students, staff and the wider community access to a state-of-the-art sport and active recreation facility (Curtin Stadium) incorporating:
- 900sqm fully equipped gymnasium
- group fitness studio
- specialised studio
- health and rehabilitation clinic
- vast outdoor recreation spaces, as well as
- indoor and outdoor multi use courts.
The facilities, fitness services and programs offered aim to inspire and engage students on campus and contribute to the vibrant student experience.
With a strong focus on enhancing wellbeing and establishing healthy lifestyle habits at any stage of life, the Curtin University Fitness Coordinator plays a vital role in encouraging participation at any level from new gym user to athlete.
Your new role
Commencing as soon as possible, an exciting opportunity is available for an experienced operator within the fitness sector to coordinate all aspects of the Curtin University Gymnasium and fitness programs.
This position coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Stadium Fitness Centre works closely with the Manager, Operations & Engagement, Sales and Customer Service Coordinators. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing engaging programs for members, coordinating group fitness offerings, overseeing fitness centre staff and ensuring exercise programming, member retention and customer service is of the highest quality.
The position will coordinate fitness centre staff and programs, group fitness programs, personal training initiatives, strength & conditioning programs for clubs and other student-based initiatives. The position is also responsible for all gymnasium operations including facility & equipment maintenance, servicing and procurement.
Due to the broad nature of services offered we require someone who is enthusiastic and dedicated to having a positive impact on the lives of our students, members, staff and community members. You will have a keen interest in the business of health and fitness supported by a strong work ethic, excellent time management and organisational skills. You will bring to the role
- A passion for inspiring members on their health and fitness journey
- Experience and business acumen within a fitness industry context
- Genuine interest and participation in health and fitness activities
- Experience in building a cooperative and high performing staff team
- Demonstrated knowledge of and prior experience in coordinating health and fitness programs
- Demonstrated ability to teach correct exercise technique
- Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate and conduct an effective fitness timetable and group exercise programs
- Previous experience in recruiting appropriately qualified fitness Instructors
