  • Key Research Projects role in the sustainable Marine Futures Program
  • Contribute to studies involving molecular genetic analysis of marine and aquatic fish species
  • Work with CSIRO Environment and make a difference

The role of Research Projects staff in CSIRO is to collaborate in scientific and technological activities with other research staff usually by assisting with detailed planning, undertaking or assisting with experimental, observational or technology development work, and in carrying out the more practical aspects of the work.

As part of CSIRO’s Environmental Business Unit, this role will contribute to studies involving molecular genetic analysis of both domestic and international marine and aquatic fish species populations of research interest.

The role sits within the Predator Populations Team of the Sustainable Marine Futures (SMF) Program, which consists of scientists, engineers, and technicians who conduct research to estimate abundance, migration, connectivity and population genetic aspects of marine species.

Existing skills in maintenance, programming and running of robotic liquid handling systems (e.g., both Eppendorf and Hamilton robotic liquid handlers) and protocols are essential components of this position.
