Unique opportunity to contribute to science education in South Australia as part of the University of Adelaide’s Science Academy
The Science Education Officer is part of the Faculty of Sciences Marketing and Recruitment team who deliver initiatives to attract future science students to the University of Adelaide.
The Science Education Officer will deliver interactive workshops, activities, and presentations as part of the University of Adelaide’s ‘Science Academy’.
The Science Academy is a flagship domestic recruitment program for local and regional secondary schools delivered to year 8-12 students by the Faculty of Sciences. The program aims to encourage students to study science subjects at school, connect students with real world science careers and provide a pathway to further study.
This position is available for a current University of Adelaide student or graduate with a background in science and interest in science communication and/or teaching.
To be successful you will need:
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of, and the ability to relate to high-school students.
- Strong public speaking and communication skills with the ability to develop a rapport with future students and secondary school teachers.
- A high level of professionalism and enthusiasm with good customer service skills.
- Ability to show initiative, proven time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to travel throughout metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia.

- Must have a driver’s license and your own vehicle
