Continuing Position available

Implement IT projects including conducting project feasibility, solution options and architecture aligned to IT strategy.

The IT Strategy, Planning and Governance unit is responsible for areas of IT Strategy and Planning, Enterprise Architecture, IT Compliance, Risk and Security and IT Training and Continuous Improvement. This unit delivers high quality, value for money support structure solutions for the University. The Solution Architect forms part of this unit.

We are seeking a highly skilled senior professional who wants to contribute to major technological advancements in a changing global higher education environment. The successful candidate will be people focused, collaborative, and will thrive in a fast and dynamic environment.

This position plays an integral role in the implementation of key IT projects including conducting feasibility assessments for potential projects, and assuming end-to-end responsibility for the overall architectural solution.

To be successful you will need:

  • Extensive experience in implementing enterprise solutions including options analysis and solution designs
  • Strong communication skills in working through complex technology topics and conceptual modules with key stakeholders within ITDS and the wider university community
  • Experience in performing the Solution Architect role across an IT portfolio involving a wide variety of technologies in the application and infrastructure domains, delivering into an operational environment
  • Proven experience in managing change in a dynamic environment, including improvement of systems and processes both human and technological as well as project management principles and techniques, including identification and prioritisation of multiple tasks
  • Current knowledge of IT trends and preferably those relevant to the University’s IT environment
