Lead the successful delivery of IT programs that enable digital transformation and business growth across the University.

Fixed term position for 5 years

The ITDS Branch is a part of the University’s Division of University Operations, which provides enabling services and resource capabilities to support the University’s teaching and research objectives and activities. ITDS provides services and support to the University of Adelaide community of over 25,000 students and 3500 staff members.

We are seeking a senior member of the Information Technology and Digital Services (ITDS) Leadership team who will be responsible for the successful delivery of IT programs that enable digital transformation and business growth across the university. The incumbent will lead a team of project professionals, including Program Managers, Project Managers, Project Business Analysts, Testers and virtual teams. The teams will comprise technical specialists and business subject matter experts, that partner across the University to plan, develop and deliver cost effective and efficient programs of IT change, while fostering and nurturing a positive and high performing culture.

To be successful you will need:

  • Extensive demonstrated experience working at a Director level in a large and complex organisational environment, including working with governance committees, Executive Directors/Deans, Executives and boards to effect strategic change and enhance collaborative arrangements
  • Proven leadership skills and extensive demonstrated experience in delivering multiple concurrent programs of complex, organisation-wide change initiatives within a multidisciplinary business environment (for example in the University context, Research/Students & Academics/University Operations)
  • A well reputed technology professional who has a broad experience of project management approaches, methods, tools and processes - Prince2, PMBOK, Agile. Substantial ‘leadership’ experience across ALL three delivery methods is a must; with experience in Change Management
  • A Thought Leader in developing cost optimisation strategies who has provided leadership in the design and ongoing management of a Delivery Management framework that supports bi-modal delivery methods with the aim to achieve cost optimisation and rapid delivery of products
  • Extensive ability to apply contemporary strategic management and business practices and methods to lead teams of professional staff in the planning of major, complex and/or multiple IT projects that support organisational goals.
