Fixed term contract for 12 months

Lead the development and delivery of learning analytics tools and services across the University to enhance the design and review of programs and courses.

Working under broad direction with a considerable degree of autonomy, the Manager, Learning Analytics will support the University of Adelaide’s strategic priorities for development and implementation of learning analytics capabilities, and evaluations designed to assess the impact of educational change and innovation initiatives.

The role encompasses application of appropriate data governance for learning analytics, identification of suitable analytics tools, and engagement with staff and students to incorporate, and evaluate the impact of, effective use of data-driven decisions in teaching and learning.

The focus of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning) portfolio is on quality assurance in learning and teaching and academic support for staff and students. The PVC (SL) provides strategic direction and leadership to the University of Adelaide as it continues to pursue its goal of excellence in education. Key to this goal is delivering an integrated, high-quality learning experience for each student, which encompasses all aspects of University life.

To be successful you will need to have:

  • Significant proficiency, understanding and experience with statistical analysis approaches, contemporary software, and their application for learning analytics and educational evaluation;
  • Experience in the design and implementation of learning analytics for actionable business improvements;
  • Demonstrated experience in providing sound strategic advice to executive and senior management, coupled with sound relationship building skills with diverse stakeholders in a complex environment;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to liaise and consult, prepare briefing papers and reports, manage change and communicate with stakeholders;
  • Proven experience in leading and managing staff, including mentoring and coaching small teams.
