About the Finance and Procurement Services 

Finance and Procurement Services assist the University to achieve its goals by providing quality leadership, information, and financial services. The Finance and Procurement Services team develops and maintains financial policies and procedures and internal control to facilitate the conduct of university business and help ensure compliance with taxation and other financial legislative requirements. 

  
About the Role 

As the Finance Services officer, you will provide administrative and financial support for the University’s Colleges and Portfolios. You will be processing financial transactions, liaising with stakeholders, answering queries, providing reporting services and any other associated duties in relation to the Finance Services Officer functions.

Some of the key position responsibilities of the role are:

  • Liaising with stakeholders and customers in relation to matters arising from invoice and general queries promptly and professionally and escalating any unknown issues appropriately.

  • Assisting with invoice and payment analysis, ensuring legitimacy of Tax invoice’s, Student Payments, and Employee Reimbursements.

  • Coding invoices in the P2P (Purchase to Pay) system, Basware, ensuring there are appropriate funds available for expenses.

  • Raising and receipting Purchase Orders and processing journals as required.  Providing support for the management and reconciliation of purchasing card transactions as required.

  • Providing routine advice and customer service to internal and external stakeholders and customers.

You are a lateral thinker and have the ability to grasp and understand complex matters within a business. The ideal incumbent will also bring exceptional interpersonal skills and has the ability to build rapport with various stakeholders across the University. You are passionate about fostering a positive culture in the workplace and can work autonomously as well as part of a team of close-knit professionals.

Some of the key position capabilities of the position include:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Experience in finance functions in a medium to large organisation.

  • Knowledge of electronic paperless invoice processing.

  • General knowledge of GST.

  • Proven ability to process high volume transactions accurately and efficiently.
