  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University 


 


About You 


 
We are currently seeking a Finance Officer, Contract Revenue, to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining research project records and ensuring revenue is secure, resolving any discrepancies that may arise. Your duties will involve overseeing a range of invoicing scenarios. As a Finance Officer, you will provide a variety of complex administrative financial services, employing accepted accounting principles, regulatory and legislative requirements, and RMIT policies and procedures. 


 


To be successful in this position, you’ll have:  


 


1. Working knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, principles, policies and procedures 


or demonstrated contracts receivable experience utilising financial management technological solutions, preferably Workday or other ERP systems in a large organisation. 


2. Experience in interpreting contracts, in particular invoicing milestones in a range of different 


contracts, varying in scale and complexity. 


3. Demonstrated experience making effective and timely decisions by applying data, problem solving 


and analytical skills to solve issues requiring sound judgment, discretion, and tact to achieve desired outcomes. 


4. Well-developed interpersonal skills, communication skills (both written and verbal) and 


organizational skills to work independently and as part of a team. 


5. Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to assess priorities, apply and interpret 


financial policies and procedures. 


6. Proven ability to provide responsive, quality, and timely customer service with an ability to adapt to a growing and changing environment.
