You will be part of a university that’s made up of inspirational, challenging thinkers and doers – and your work will make a lasting impact. Monash University was founded on the belief that the search for knowledge and the ways to use it never end. Discover more at www.monash.edu .

The Monash Law Faculty (‘Monash Law’) was established more than half a century ago to be a different kind of law school, with a pioneering spirit, an enterprising and inclusive approach, and a deep commitment to access to justice in all of its forms. We have both a local and a global outlook in our teaching, scholarship, and external engagement.

Monash Law is consistently recognised and ranked as one of the world’s best law schools. In this worldwide recruitment round, Monash Law aims to enhance its position as a leading international, clinical, and digital law school in the Indo-Pacific region, providing world-class education, research, and external engagement across both global hemispheres.

Monash Law is the only Australian law school to operate from seven different locations on three continents, and with significant investment in three community legal centres. Our commitment to local communities and the legal profession is as deep as our commitment to preparing our students and supporting our academics to make a difference in the world. Our dedicated Monash University Law Chambers situated in the heart of the Melbourne CBD legal and judicial district complements our Clayton base and legal clinics. Our academics are strongly committed to the teaching-research nexus, innovative teaching and impactful research, collaborative and cross-disciplinary initiatives, and access to justice across political, economic, environmental, and social domains.

The Faculty has a vibrant research culture, with a strong commitment to diverse and innovative forms of high-quality doctrinal, empirical, and cross-disciplinary legal research that has governmental, professional, industry, and societal impact. We collaborate with world leaders in legal research and education throughout Australia and internationally and have demonstrated top-tier research intensive performance. Our staff are involved in ARC Discovery and Linkage grants and fellowships, as well as scaled-up and collaborative research initiatives through CRC projects and networks of excellence. The Faculty also has three outstanding University-approved research centres - the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law, the Australian Centre for Justice Innovation, and the Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies - and a number of vibrant and emerging research groups including Feminist Legal Studies, Transnational Criminal Law, and Health and Wellbeing, as well as the new capital punishment initiative (Eleos Justice), Commercial Dispute Resolution Group, and Public Sector Law and Governance Group.

At Monash Law, we work with the legal profession and industry partners to develop a new generation of law graduates whose curiosity, commitment, and leadership will make a difference to our world. We offer a broadly based legal educational experience, for the benefit of students and their potential employers within and beyond the legal profession. We invest in premium facilities worthy of our world class students and staff, such as our renowned clinical sites, state-of-the-art and technologically enabled moot court, and contemporary, student-centred learning environments.
