FACULTY EXECUTIVE OFFICER

FCULTY OF LAW AND BUSINESS

  • Support the academic goals and operations of the Faculty of law and Business
  • Provide advice to Faculty Staff on a range of course governance processes, guidelines and policies
  • Full-time continuing role based in Melbourne or North Sydney

The Faculty of Law and Business consists of two key schools, the Peter Faber Business School and the Thomas More Law School, and provides both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs across a range of business and law disciplines.  

This critical role supports the academic goals and operations of the Faculty and the operational and corporate governance standards of the University. The position is accountable for providing support to a range of Faculty committees, for providing advice to Faculty staff regarding University policies and procedures, and the preparation of Faculty documentation as they relate to the conduct and quality assurance of academic matters.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Preparing and distributing papers and minutes for Faculty Board and Faculty Learning and Teaching Committee
  • Coordinating updates to Faculty information in University publications
  • Preparing reports and advice for the Executive Dean on a range of matters including but not limited to Student Appeals and Complaints, Faculty Awards and Prizes and Academic Misconduct
  • Coordinating and overseeing course development, review, and discontinuation processes for the Faculty
  • Supporting the Heads of School in course governance planning such as course review planning and activity schedules for TEQSA and accreditation reviews

You will need to have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or substantial relevant experience
  • Demonstrated high level of written communication skills including preparation and editing of draft documentation applying careful attention to detail
  • Well-developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to review documents and policies of a complex nature and contribute to policy and procedure development
  • Proficiency in a range of computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, SharePoint and web-based applications including student administration systems

Previous university or tertiary education experience is considered desirable.

Total remuneration valued to $107,300 total rem - $116,130 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $90,670 - $98,131 (pro rata) pa (Higher Education Worker Level 7), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
