About the Role

Reporting to the Campus Facilities Manager, the Facilities Coordinator supports the delivery of teaching, research and community activities by managing the operational delivery of Facilities Services on campus, monitoring asset condition and informing future asset replacement projects, and supporting maintenance and capital projects by resolving operational issues. This role is responsible for ensuring on-campus Facilities Services are delivered safely, efficiently, effectively and aligned with stakeholder’s needs.

The Facilities Management Unit (FMU) provides support to the University’s teaching, research and support functions in capital development, campus operations and commercial services.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Manage the operational delivery of contracted Facilities Services in areas including:
    - Minor maintenance and porterage
    - Engineering Services maintenance
    - Grounds maintenance
    - Cleaning
    - Security systems (including CCTV and electronic security)
  • Proactively monitor the condition of all campus assets and provide feedback to inform future programs and projects.
  • Lead regular asset condition audits to ensure condition data is accurate and current
  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-campus maintenance and capital projects in order to effectively and efficiently resolve project related operational issues such as access, services isolations, waste management 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Some out of hours work will be required
  • Participate in after-hours on call roster on a rotational basis on a 24 hour /1 week (7 days) in every 4 weeks to provide effective supervision of support staff and / or service providers in the case of a building or security related emergency
  • Strong experience in a relevant field
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of building services and legislative requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high quality and responsive services through in-house and outsourced service delivery models
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and supervise multi-disciplinary teams
