The Directorate of Facilities Management is responsible for the planning and management of the CQUniversity Estate and deliver services through a diverse professional team that is innovative and striving for continuous improvement.  We are searching for a motivated all-rounder to provide effective support to other teams including grounds and maintenance teams, performing supervised duties related to each of these groups.

 

You will have experience performing tradesman assistance tasks and the ability to perform a broad range of general services including coordinating office moves, furniture relocations, cleaning fleet vehicles, physical set up of special events/functions and grounds maintenance tasks. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working as a high-involvement team member collaborating and cooperating with other departments to achieve positive business outcomes.

Position Requirements

 

  • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, simple tasks involving labour, minor maintenance, minor workplace upkeep.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of grounds equipment and machinery (mowers, tractors, whipper snippers, hedge trimmers)
  • Completed Year 12 without work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Open Manual Driver’s Licence.
  • Manual work is an inherent requirement of this position. A suitable level of fitness is required and must be maintained at all times.
  • Basic understanding of occupational health and safety, quality assurance, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination as applied in the working environment.
  • You will be expected to hold vaccinations in relation to the COVID-19 immunisation should your CQUniversity role require you to attend any setting / venue / event where there is a specific entry requirement for you to hold these vaccinations, as per relevant State Government directives.
