About the Role

The Students Voice Australasia (SVA) Student Assistant will provide administrative support to Student Voice Australasia and will assist with the planning and delivery of the Student Network sessions and annual Student Summit, with key responsibility for communication and promotion of the events.

  • Host dedicated sessions for students on student representation, partnership, and leadership experiences.
  • Facilitate discussions exclusively for students to exchange practices and share experiences in the tertiary sector.
  • Actively engage with student members and plan sessions addressing their needs and providing value.
  • Collaborate with Student Assistant to create resources enhancing the overall student experience with SVA.
  • Provide support in engaging student members through promotions and online chat facilitation.
  • Role entails flexible hours, with availability required during bi-monthly Student Network sessions.
  • Also, availability needed for an annual Student Summit and SVA Symposium in September.

This role is suitable for those who are looking for additional experience working on administration tasks and enhancing communication and project management skills. As a casual employee, you have the flexibility to schedule your roster (7 hours per week) to best fit your studies and other commitments.

About You

We are looking for a full-time or part-time tertiary student enrolled to study at least until the end of 2024. A recent experience in student representation and participation in tertiary education decision-making is highly desired as this is essential for curating effective Student Network events and the production of resources.

You will be a great fit for the role if you are a motivated and organised individual with a passion for bringing people together and sharing knowledge. This role requires strong interpersonal skills to host online sessions and engage with members as well as great organisational skills to plan events, schedule promotions and create resources.
