About Strategy and Culture  
The University’s Communications and Marketing function, within Strategy and Culture, provides strategic, advisory and operational services to support the academic mission and the University strategy. It fosters a culture of best practice and collaboration across the University’s communication and marketing teams and stakeholders and uses data-driven insights to inform decision-making across the University.

About the Role
As the Executive Officer, Strategic Communications, you will be responsible for providing high-level executive and secretariat support to the Director, Strategic Communications, including executive communications, stakeholder coordination, administrative duties and support across the function. These activities include organising and supervising all administrative duties that facilitate the running of a directorate by providing administrative support to programs and internal communications within the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the point of contact for the Director, handling enquiries, prioritising and actioning requests and taking decisive action to facilitate the optimal use of the Director's time
  • On behalf of the Director, manage, prepare and review high-level, complex communications across Strategic Communications and the broader University Communications and Marketing portfolio
  • Research, analyse, collate and provide operational information to the Director to support informed decision-making and planning
  • Contribute to and at times lead a range of activities across the Strategic Communications function

About You
You will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated capacity to prepare high-quality written materials in multiple formats. You will maintain a high level of confidentiality whilst undertaking several concurrent tasks and bring excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in Communications
  • Experience working in senior executive support and secretariat roles, providing administrative support to ensure the efficient running of the day-to-day activities including diary management, handling enquiries and correspondence preparation and management.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with an understanding of Executive office processes relating to Communications, including preparing and managing reporting and administrative activities for the function
