Edith Cowan University (ECU) is seeking to appoint a new Executive Dean for the School of Engineering based at the Joondalup campus.

About the Opportunity

The School of Engineering is one of the fastest growing schools in Australia, recognised internationally for its excellent quality of education and research, supported by outstanding infrastructure and facilities.   

The Executive Dean, School of Engineering is a member of the University Executive and plays a key role in developing and contributing to the strategic direction for the University. The position will lead the ongoing development and direction of the School, enhancing the University’s domestic and international recognition and standing for learning and teaching, research and industry engagement, to support ECU’s exceptional educational experience.

This position reports to the Vice-Chancellor and works in close collaboration with the Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor (SDVC), other members of the University Executive (including other Executive Deans), and other key leadership roles across the University.

  • You are a recognised PhD qualified Professor with an outstanding record of scholarship in a relevant discipline.
  • You are a visionary who is innovative and inclusive in your practice, with a commitment to delivering high quality teaching and research programs that enhance the staff and student learning experience.       
  • You enjoy collaborating with passionate people who want to make a difference through ECU’s academic activity and social impact.
  • You are a natural influencer, who builds rapport quickly and knows the importance of taking time to build trusted and strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders to drive change and achieve a shared purpose.
  • You will demonstrate prior success in leading innovation at the School level and delivering on institutional strategic priorities.
