  • Base salary range: $87,460 – $92,430 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The Oceans Institute brings together the strength of UWA’s marine researchers into a transdisciplinary, integrated research focus. The goal is to capitalise on UWA’s existing research strengths – in areas such as oceanography, ecology, engineering, resource management, and governance – and utilise them to deliver thriving and resilient oceans for future generations.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under general direction, provide high-level executive and comprehensive administrative support to the UWA Oceans Institute, extending assistance to the Deputy Director, Business Manager, and Communications Officer. You will contribute to the establishment and maintenance of office systems, coordinate various administrative functions, ensure the efficient operation of policies and procedures, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

You are a highly organised and proactive professional with a strong background in administrative support. You thrive in dynamic environments and are driven by a passion for supporting cutting-edge research. With excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail, you excel at managing office systems, coordinating administrative functions, and ensuring compliance with policies. Your ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders makes you an invaluable asset to the UWA Oceans Institute team, where you will play a crucial role in advancing research for sustainable and resilient oceans.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level.
  • Highly developed ability to access information to improve office efficiency.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures and structures and of the higher education sector is desirable.
