  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University 


 


About The Position: 


 
The Events and Engagement Officer, as a part of the RMIT Culture Partnered Projects and Engagement team, contributes to the implementation of RMIT Culture’s programming and audience development strategy, which builds a creative and learning community across RMIT, alumni and supporters, creative industries, government, the education sector, and the broader public. Reporting to the Manager, Partnered Projects and Engagement, the role supports the coordination and delivery of events, projects and key partnership activities and takes a lead role in communications, event and project logistics, promotion, reporting and evaluation.  


 


The role contributes to audience development and engagement by taking an active approach to building and engaging RMIT Culture’s communities and coordinates communications for RMIT Culture across internal and external channels. 


 


To be successful in this position, you’ll have: 


 


  • Experience in the coordination of events, workshops, and activities to build high levels of participation. 

  • Demonstrated experience in developing audiences and an understanding of the relationship between programming and communications. 

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering projects in the creative industries, often simultaneously and to tight timeframes and budgets. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, and experience facilitating and nurturing partnerships. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as well as the ability to liaise with management, staff, and external organisations to establish effective professional relationships. 

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and re-adjust workload priorities to meet conflicting deadlines. 

  • Experience in digital communication and media and building engaged digital communities. 

  • Proven ability to use a wide range of systems, software and social platforms that will support the requirements of the role. 

  • Flexible working hours as required by the program, which may include evenings, weekends and public holidays. 


 


Qualifications: 


 


Tertiary Qualification in Arts, Creative Industries, Communications or Media and/or extensive work-related experience.

precincts, spaces, collections, including academic and student galleries, science and 


technology showcases, and enterprise engagement.
