Overview

We’re looking for a creative and energetic events and activation coordinator to join the ECU City team.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a dynamic and transformational university, as we enter an exciting new phase with ECU City under development in the heart of Perth.

ECU City is set to redefine higher education, bringing incredible opportunities for students, staff, and the community. As the centrepiece of the Perth City Deal, the new $853m campus will exemplify the university of the future. It will be home to creative thinkers, adaptive learners, and the leaders of tomorrow.

The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) will join ECU’s School of Business and Law, School of Arts and Humanities, School of Science, and more, in the CBD.

This is your chance to play your part in the launch of this unprecedented project, as we look towards our opening to students in 2026.

As Events and Activation Coordinator, you will work with the ECU City Communications and Engagement team on the planning and implementation of the internal and external operational communications strategy, through a range of stakeholder events, activations and other digital initiatives.

No two days will be the same.

You’ll be able bring your creative thinking and work in a fast-paced project environment. Everything you do will make a difference to students, staff, and community, as we work collectively to bring ECU City to life.

About you:

  • You have experience in larger community style events and activations
  • You’ve coordinated some great smaller events
  • You thrive on organisation and the rush of a successful event
  • You can coordinate multiple events and deadlines
  • You have excellent people skills and build strong relationships
  • You’ve honed your administration skills
  • You know the importance of strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

Ultimately, the idea of being part of something so transformational for Perth will excite you.

When you join ECU, you become part of a large, diverse and talented team with a shared purpose. Together, with an open mind and creative thinking, we strive to effect positive change in the world and create a learning environment that energises and inspires our students, our staff and our community.

If you believe in being bold, are passionate about driving positive change and have the skills and experience to succeed, we’d love to hear from you.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $85,551pa to $92,301pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.

ECU supports a work/life balance for staff. Benefits such as flexible working arrangements may also be negotiated to meet your personal circumstances.

ECU has an Award-winning Health and Wellness Program and an extensive range of staff benefits across entertainment, financial, health, travel and consumer goods and services.
