About the opportunity

As the Ethics Administration Officer, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of the human and animal research ethics office within the University’s Research Integrity unit.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • process and prepare general correspondence to researchers regarding the decisions of the ethics committees

  • handle general enquiries about human and animal research ethical requirements

  • maintain systems including hard copy filing, databases and document and records management software (TRIM)

  • prepare monthly agendas for human and animal ethics committees

  • manage, monitor and process annual and final reports received from researchers

  • provide excellent customer centric support to build strong relationships with key stakeholders

  • take initiative with a forward-thinking mindset and perform ad-hoc duties when required.

About you

  • an interest and understanding of human and animal research ethics

  • proven experience collating and analysing administrative data to create reports

  • strong organisational and administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail

  • exceptional computer skills and strong knowledge with Microsoft Office

  • knowledge of the “National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research” and/or the Australian code of practice for care and use of animals for scientific purposes is highly desirable
