Overview
The Office of Pro-Vice Chancellor (Equity and Indigenous) is responsible for leading equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives for Edith Cowan University. The Access and Equity Directorate is responsible for delivering high quality enabling programs that meet the needs of pre-tertiary students, schools and communities, and progressing equitable and inclusive practice across the institution. A key focus of the area is to promote the visibility and embedding of equity and inclusion principles across institutional activities at ECU.

The Role
Reporting to the Director, Access and Equity, this role will work to identify, develop and implement ideas, strategies, initiatives and events that will work to ensure Edith Cowan University is recognised as a leader in student and staff equity and inclusion. Within the Equity Projects Team, this position will focus on initiatives that assist people with disabilities to access and participate in University education and employment. This position contributes to and influences university strategies on issues related to access and inclusion through participation on committees and working groups, and collaboratively delivering evidence-informed initiatives. This role will foster relationships with stakeholders across and external to Edith Cowan University to assist with building a more inclusive University environment by implementing key institutional equity strategies.

Key Criteria

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues facing people with disabilities in education and/or employment
  • Proven successful experience in leading projects
  • Experience of working in a similar role specialising in equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Building rapport and forming positive working relationships with all internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders/communities

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.

Benefits & Remuneration
This fixed-term, part-time position attracts a remuneration of $82,658 to $89,180 per annum (pro-rata 40%) plus 17% superannuation.
