Overview
The Student Life Directorate adopts a whole of institution, evidence-based approach to building a sense of belonging and ensure individual students’ needs are met holistically across the student lifecycle. These services will deliver a successful student experience that focuses on providing high quality services for retention, employability and personalised support for student success.

Within the Student Wellbeing team, the Equity, Diversity and Disability services team provides expert assistance to students and staff in the management, administration and coordination of student equity, diversity and disability services. This role works closely with other teams in the Student Wellbeing team; the Counselling team provide a confidential psychological counselling service for students; and the Health Services team provides medical and nursing services for students and staff.

The Role
Reporting to the Practice Coordinator, this position provides administrative support to the Equity, Diversity and Disability Officers in their roles working with students experiencing equity, diversity and disability issues. The position will work closely with other support staff providing equity support, such as note-takers and Auslan translators.  A key aspect of the position will be to support students in the implementation of technology designed to assist them with their equity, diversity or disability needs.

Key Criteria

  • Experience in providing high-level administrative support within a large organisation.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others to accomplish joint tasks and common objectives.
  • Customer service focus to achieve quality outcomes for all parties including internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Experience in working with assistive technologies – in particular supporting others in their use of said technologies.
  • The ability to balance and prioritise tasks without losing sight of desired outcomes and remaining proactive.
  • Personal or lived experience of equity, diversity and disability will be valued

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time ongoing position attracts remuneration of $73,257 - $81,404 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
