  • Part-time appointment (0.6-0.8 FTE) on a 3 year fixed term basis
  • Base salary range: Level 5 $73,982 – $81,999 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The Cooperative Research Centre for Transformations in Mining Economies (CRC TiME) is an independent, not for profit organisation bringing together diverse stakeholders to help reimagine and transform what happens after mining ends for the better.

Our team is dynamic, passionate and committed. We believe in our role of connecting Australia’s leading researchers with regional and First Nations communities, industry and governments to tackle some of the most complex mine closure and post-mine challenges.

We are a unique collaboration of over 75 partners from leading mining and mining service companies, community and regional organisations, State and Commonwealth governments and the research sector. CRC TiME is co-hosted by research partners The University of Western Australia and The University of Queensland, with offices in Perth and Brisbane.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under general direction, contribute to the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement strategies in and with our partner mining regions. You will work with researchers, industry, regional, community and First Nations organisations and government representatives to support impact from CRC TiME activities.

About you 

You’ll be passionate about working with our regional partners to achieve what is important to their communities, recognising that each community is different with its own aspirations and priorities. As part of our vibrant External Relations and Impact Team, you will work closely with our researchers and other partners to help us engage meaningfully, respectfully and for shared benefits.

You may also live, work or have a strong connection to one of Australia’s mining regions.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate :

  • Ability to build strong and enduring relationships with diverse stakeholders, including regional and First Nations people, communities and organisations.
  • Substantial relevant experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, planning or project management work.
  • Demonstrable organisational, planning and coordination experience.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, customer management systems, website management and communications software.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a small team.
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in community and stakeholderengagement, regional planning or project management are desirable
  • An understanding of the mining industry and/or regional development is highly desirable.

Note: A current “C” class driver’s licence is a requirement of this position. Interstate and intrastate travel will be required
