  • Commencement Salary: $65,766 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

The Engagement Officer supports the delivery of initiatives aligned to the Academic Unit’s engagement priorities. The position works within the Unit to administer a range of planned student, industry and community events and initiatives and supports the scoping and creation of bespoke and new curriculum based program activities. The role collaborates closely with a range of stakeholders during the planning and delivery of these activities

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate engagement events and initiatives that involve students and the broader community
  • Liaise and collaborate with various internal colleagues throughout planning and delivery stages of each activity
  • Identify requirements and maintain administrative processes for an Academic Unit Calendar to provide a one-stop view
  • Provide advice and support to the Academic Unit’s Student Groups and Committees to guide their event planning, financial, timeline, marketing and procedural matters

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience and initiative in developing and implementing events and engagement activities.
  • Proven strong communication and writing skills including ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and keep accurate conversation records.
  • Highly developed organisational ability and initiative including experience in work planning and prioritising to meet competing deadlines in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Strong administration skills including experience in using information systems, social media account management, website management and communications documentation.
  • Post-secondary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience.
