Overview:

  • Exciting opportunity for a recent Communications graduate (or similar) to join the Asia Impact team at RMIT and develop strategic content for key initiatives

  • Full-time, fixed-term position until June 2025

  • Salary Level HEW 5 + 17% Superannuation and generous leave entitlements

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, with hybrid and flexible ways of working

About the Role

As the Engagement Officer, you will manage the day-to-day communications of the below strategic initiatives:

  • Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) – a partnered platform for Australian commercial and strategic engagement with Vietnam.

  • RMIT Asia Trade and Innovation Hub (ATIH) – a collaborative program with leading global think tank, Asia Society Australia.

Working closely with the Engagement Manager, you will develop content for a range of communication channels, including social media, direct email, and web marketing campaigns. You will build professional relationships with a range of key partners (i.e., photographers or graphic designers as well as stakeholders within Asia Society Australia), to grow the strategic positioning and momentum of the two initiatives.

About You

You will be an independent self-starter, with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to supporting team and project outcomes. You will be highly organised and adept at managing your time. You will bring fresh energy to the team, with a willingness to grow and develop in the role and make it your own.

Your aptitude for creative problem solving and using initiative to identify solutions will set you up for success in this role.

To excel in this position, you’ll also have:

  • Strong professional writing and editing skills, including writing for multiple audiences in various formats for both print and digital environments.

  • Experience using WordPress, Microsoft Office suite, Canva, Direct Email Marketing (EDM) platforms and project management software (highly desirable).

  • Some experience supporting the engagement needs of strategic projects and/or initiatives.

  • Any exposure or connection to Southeast Asian culture would be an advantage.

About the Portfolio
The International and Engagement group is led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor International & Engagement and Vice-President. The portfolio is responsible for RMIT’s international strategy and agenda, including international development and partnerships and oversight of our international operations including RMIT Vietnam and RMIT Europe. It consists of the following units:

  • Global

  • RMIT Vietnam

  • RMIT Europe

  • University Communications

  • Experience (Global Student Recruitment; Global Marketing and Regional Hubs; Market Intelligence & Propositions; Digital & Experience)
