The Opportunity

You will play a key role as a member of the Education Team within the Faculty of Engineering by supporting the delivery of creative, innovative, technical, and accessible educational offerings. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with course convenors, academic teaching and professional staff and other members of the Faculty Education Team to support the enhancement of teaching performance, course design and student satisfaction. You will deliver just-in-time education technology support and develop hybrid learning offerings initially for a select number of courses with a view to extend this across the whole faculty.

  • Salary, Level 6: $89,670 to $95,656 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time
  • Fixed term – 6 months

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Sound understanding of learning design principles, practices, assessment development, resource development and production, as well as current and future trends in digital learning.
  • Demonstrated capacity to advise and support staff on the design of student-centred assessment design and implementation in e-learning tools such as Moodle, MS Teams and H5P.
  • Experience or capacity in using audio, video and online streaming equipment for online interactive experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to work as part of a diverse team and liaise and negotiate with a range of people to achieve agreed outcomes and reconcile different views.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
