About the role

You will be responsible for multimedia development and creating technology-based learning resources for use in a new way of delivering flexible, online (fully digital and hybrid/blended) and face-to-face programs such as infographics, videos and animations, print-ready materials, and multimedia interactivities. Programs will be delivered by the Learning Technologist utilising web-mediated learning technologies and LMS tools, as well as other tools such as Adobe Suite.

You will provide learning technologies expertise in the development of online learning, pathway programs, short courses, micro-credentials and customised programs. You will plan educational technology resource development projects and independently develop new resources using a range of production technologies, as well as advise internal stakeholders and provide guidance on technology options and manage development through external vendor parties as required.

Federation University’s 2021 - 2025 Strategic Plan sets out an ambitious approach to delivering new products through different channels such as online learning, business to business, micro-credentials and short course offerings. The New Business Accelerator is a new team established to fast-track development of programs, courses and materials to enable delivery of these new products and channels. The New Business Accelerator will facilitate Federation University’s flexibility and agility and position the University to respond to changing student and industry demand and drive new revenue and growth.

About you

Reporting to the Knowledge Lead within the New Business Accelerator the appointee is part of the New Business Accelerator’s team of academic and professional staff and will establish and maintain strong internal relationships and several external vendors and creation of an external network to support the deliverables of the New Business Accelerator.

You will possess demonstrated experience implementing online learning technologies and website formats and developing digital and interactive content asset creation for print and LMS systems. The appointee will be proficient with using a range of software applications including Adobe Creative Suite, in addition to the ability to provide strategic support with educational resource development projects. Demonstrated ability to produce templates and easy-to-use frameworks to capture stakeholder’s technological needs and propose most suitable options is essential.

You will:

  • develop and implement a diverse range of new high-quality technology-based educational resources;
  • develop the technology-focused educational resources for strategic projects;
  • developing and managing the full suite of technology components of and within project plans and within budget;
  • support the development of new learning resources through the application of technical specialist skills across a range of production technologies; and
  • manage the quality assurance of technology-based learning resources.

Directions from Victoria’s Chief Health Officer require all Victorian-based Federation University workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they are an Excepted Person as defined by the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions.
