  • Education Team Manager required to support the delivery of the Sydney Medical School Doctor of Medicine Program in Dubbo

  • Full-time fixed term until 31 December 2022 with possibility of extension subject to funding offering a base salary of $108K p.a., plus leave loading and generous employer’s contribution to superannuation relocation assistance also available

About the opportunity 

The School of Rural Health in Dubbo is in an exciting time of growth and development. From 2022, The University of Sydney will deliver its four-year graduate entry Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program in two streams; a Metropolitan stream based on the University's Camperdown campus in Sydney, and a Dubbo stream based at the School of Rural Health in Dubbo.

The Dubbo stream will admit 24 students each year, giving preference to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidates, those of rural origin, and those of lower socio-economic status. The MD curriculum integrates preclinical sciences with clinical sciences, clinical skills, population health, ethics, medical law and professionalism being taught in parallel with preclinical sciences.

Due to this growth and expansion we have a position available for an Education Team Manager to provide operational support to the Head of Clinical School (Dubbo/Orange), and other senior academics, on the general management and delivery of Sydney Medical Program (SMP) at the School of Rural Health (Dubbo/Orange) as well as medical graduates undertaking the Integrated Rural Training Pipeline program administered by the Western NSW Rural Training Hub. The role will manage the overall delivery of technical and education support services, including clinical procedural skills and simulation-based teaching, to the Academic and Teaching staff in the provision of Years 1 to 4 of the MD Program (Years 1 - 4 delivered in Dubbo, and Years 3 and 4 delivered in Orange).

The position is located at Dubbo. Limited travel between rural and metropolitan sites may be a requirement of this position.

  • tertiary qualifications with relevant experience in business administration support and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience

  • demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff; and experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issues

  • experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems together with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities

  • a current driver's license.
