  • Opportunity to provide a broad range of education administrative and operational support to Academic and Teaching staff to meet the educational support needs of the School

  • Base Salary $89K - $96Kp.a. (HEO6) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Education Support Officer to provide administrative support to for Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees.

In this role, you will coordinate accreditation requirements for one or more programs of study, ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls, and maintain a safe working environment for all staff and students. You will also provide candidature support for students enrolled in undergraduate coursework programs within the School of Computer Science.
 

Established as the first computer science department in Australia, the School of Computer Science (SCS) is research intensive and has a strong tradition of research-led teaching. The School offers undergraduate majors in computer science, information systems, data science and software development within its flagship Bachelor of Advanced Computing degree and combined degree programs with commerce and science. SCS also offers postgraduate coursework degrees in Information Technology and Information Technology Management, Data Science and the Master of Health Technology Innovation. SCS is one of the six schools in the Faculty of Engineering, which has a strong position within Australia and worldwide.

About you

  • a tertiary qualification with some relevant work experience; and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training

  • experience delivering education programmes, preferably in a tertiary education environment

  • effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods

  • experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, together with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities.

  • extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment

  • excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes

  • well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills.
