About the opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team to provide vital support during the upcoming exam period. This casual role will be for 5 weeks in total from June 11th, 2024 – July 15th, 2024. The first 4 weeks will be full time hours (9-5pm) and the 5th week will be 4 hours per day.

During the first week of the role, your key responsibilities will involve the meticulous organisation of examination materials. This includes the careful sorting, counting, and distribution of incoming papers to our dedicated team and markers. Following this preparatory phase, you will transition into a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of examination data. Your primary task will involve the precise entry of examination marks into Excel spreadsheets, coupled with thorough double-checking procedures to guarantee data integrity. As an Education Support Assistant, your unwavering focus will be on providing invaluable assistance throughout the examination period, contributing to the seamless execution of our assessment processes.

Your key responsibilities will be

  • perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring high levels of data integrity and compliance with university standards

  • utilise Excel and other relevant software to organize examination data effectively

  • maintain a high level of focus and attention to detail

You will have

  • strong data entry skills with a demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail

  • proficiency in Microsoft Excel in particular

  • demonstrated ability to work well both independently and work collaboratively within a team

  • strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • previous experience in data entry or administrative support roles is desirable but not required

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position
