About the Role 
As the Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for providing education and care for children enrolled at the University of Melbourne early Childhood Services. You are required to respond to the centre’s philosophy and approach to teaching, learning and assessment and to meet all expectations as outlined according to the requirements of the National Quality Framework. You will also work in collaboration with the Centre Director, the Educational Leader, Early Childhood Teachers, and other Educators. 

Your responsibilities will include: 


  • Respond to children’s strengths, interests, and needs and contribute to the planning cycle and review within the room 


  • Engage children in meaningful learning opportunities, always mindful of promoting the children’s agency or choice 

  • To supervise children’s activities to always ensure the safety of each child 

  • Work together with colleagues to provide a safe, supportive, inclusive, and educationally stimulating environments for all children 


Who we are looking for 
We are seeking a passionate professional who has high level information technology skills, as well as excellent oral & written communication skills. You will continuously strive to engage with children on their level within various environments and to meet the physical care and needs of children. You will be incredibly enthusiastic when it comes to working and taking responsibility for teaching young learners. You can also consistently create and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues from all diverse areas.  

You will also have: 


  • An approved early childhood educator (Certificate III & Diploma) qualification as approved by ACECQA 

  •  Experience of working as a member of a team in an approved education and care service 

  •  A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) 

  •  Level 2 First Aid Certificate, including anaphylaxis and asthma components
