The Director, Research Grants (Operations) is responsible for leading and managing the Research Grants unit in its role providing support for the University's competitive research grant applications and awards. The Director provides high level input into Divisional leadership teams regarding external research grant funding and operational matters, and works co-operatively with the Director, Research Grants (Research Development) and other senior managers in the Division and Faculties to ensure appropriate coordination of research support services.
The Director coordinates submission of applications and post-award management for the University's research grant programs, liaises with senior research leaders in relation to research grant-related strategies, and acts for the Executive Director, Research Services, as required.
To be successful you will need:
- Substantial experience in research management and administration.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, document, implement and monitor processes and activities designed to improve administrative efficiency and output.
- Extensive experience in effectively leading a professional team in a complex work environment.
- A commitment to, and the relevant skills for, developing and providing a range of research support services.
- Sound knowledge of the research sector nationally and globally, in particular with respect to national research funding opportunities, mechanisms and research management in the University environment.
