The Office of Research is responsible for formulating and providing policy advice, and for developing and implementing procedures to effectively solicit, coordinate and administer externally and internally funded research, and research governance and compliance activities, which enhance the University’s research reputation. The Office of Research is also responsible for actively seeking external funding to increase the resourcing of the University’s research for maximum impact.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), the postholder will provide leadership and direction to the Office of Research. This will focus on the provision of support to the University in the key service areas of research infrastructure and partnerships, research grants and contracts, research impact and assessment, and research ethics and integrity. As Director, Office of Research you will be required to provide expert advice to the University Executive on national and international research strategy and policy as well as representing the University in negotiations with external parties on matters related to the University’s research.

This senior leadership role offers an outstanding opportunity for an established research-focused leader with a desire to support research excellence and impact. With strong leadership and management, influencing and collaboration skills, you will contribute to supporting the achievement of our research objectives and support the long-term research strategy to enhance the University’s research culture, performance and reputation as an international partner of choice.
