This position will be offered at either a Level D, Associate Professor or Level E, Professor

Play a pivotal role in leading the new Adelaide EpiCentre (Centre for Clinical Epidemiology)

An exciting and unique new role is being offered in partnership between the University of Adelaide, Central Adelaide Local Health Network and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute.

The Adelaide EpiCentre will be established in 2023 in partnership with the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI). The Centre will provide support in epidemiology and study design, biostatistics, data management and analytics, health services research; health economics; implementation science; grantsmanship and research governance and ethics. The Centre will also deliver training in research methods. 

Reporting to the Dean of Medicine and Head of the Adelaide Medical School and located at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, this key leadership position will see you play an important role in fostering collaborative clinical and applied research.

Concurrent (part-time) clinical service is welcomed, especially in a hospital setting. Please note that special conditions apply to appointment to positions within SA Health.

To be successful you will need:

  • Medical qualification, registerable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Doctoral qualification in clinical epidemiology or equivalent.
  • Excellent research track record relative to opportunity, as evidenced by publications, conference proceedings, grant success and supervision of higher degree by research (HDR) students.
  • Significant experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programs in clinical epidemiology.
  • Significant experience in collaborative health and medical research.
