Marketing and Communication (M&C) is the central marketing and communication service at The University of Queensland. The team is responsible for the University’s marketing strategy, strategic communication, media management, brand and creative services, publications and advertising.

M&C has responsibilities across the span of the University’s campuses and operations, nationally and internationally. We work closely with executive leadership, senior staff, and marketing and communication staff in faculties and institutes.


About This Opportunity

This role will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver marketing and advertising campaign assets that enhance the university’s brand and reputation and deliver measurable outcomes. The digital designer is responsible for designing and producing digital assets for multimedia and creative projects including websites, mobile apps, advertising, animation, emails, social media and interactive displays. You will use your skills, experience, and knowledge of digital advertising best practice to ensure assets are of the highest standard to attract and engage audiences and drive conversions. You will take ideas from concept to execution, working with project managers, design teams, information technologists, and content experts to create clear and compelling designs that deliver an effective user experience.

This position is located at our Toowong Office, located 2km away from the main University Campus and just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. 


Our Ideal Candidate

This role requires a degree in design, advertising or a related field with at least 4 years relevant experience (or a combination of education/training and/or experience). You will have high level working expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, in particular InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premier Pro. We are looking for someone who has delivered through-the-line campaigns in competitive markets, across regional and multi-disciplinary boundaries to ensure campaign outcomes are delivered on time and within budget. You will have high level interpersonal and relationship building skills and a knowledge and understanding of brand identity principles and guidelines to produce collateral that adheres to the University’s requirements.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW level 6.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,784 - $86,768, plus super of 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $94,517 - $101,519.
