  • Unique opportunity to work in an influential role within one of Australia’s leading geopolitical think tanks partnering with The University of Western Australia and the Commonwealth and State Governments to strengthen relationships and strategic thinking between Australia, the Indo-Pacific and the USA
  • Part-time 0.6FTE, fixed term for 12 months,
  • Salary range: $84,665 – $89,477 p.a. pro rata plus 10.5% superannuation
  • Flexible working arrangements, with the opportunity to work remotely

The Perth USAsia Centre is an independent think-tank that connects Australia to the Indo-Pacific to advance the public interest. The Centre strengthens relationships and educates through research, networks, engagements, and analysis.

About the opportunity
You will support a range of digital communication activities associated with the Centre’s Communications Strategy. You will contribute to building the Centre’s strategic affairs community via a range of projects covering videos, podcasting, website and online events..

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Substantial relevant experience working in a varied internal or external communications role
  • Experience in creating and evaluating digital communications, including photo, video, newsletter and social media content
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with a strong client focus and a high level of attention to detail
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including, event-hosting, ticketing, web editing, CMS, database and digital content platforms

About you
You will have the ability to operate as a flexible team member and contribute towards team and organisational goals with a demonstrated record of initiative, problem solving, and adaptability. You will have the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a willingness to support others and embrace new responsibilities and ideally have an understanding of not-for-profit organisations or exposure to think-tanks.
