About Student Engagement 

The Student Engagement portfolio excels in providing effective student engagement across digital channels and platforms at Curtin, as well as targeted interventions with the aim of supporting student success. This team supports and provides best practice advice across Curtin on meeting the internal digital communication and platform objectives of the University. 

The Digital Student Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the various digital student engagement channels in order to develop and improve the overall student experience.  

In this role you will  

This role is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of digital content for current students related to their experience in on-campus accommodation. You will work with the wider Student Experience team to ensure new students are successfully on boarded into accommodation as part of their Orientation experience, and you will create and deliver content to enhance their housing experience throughout their time at Curtin.   

This role also manages communications and marketing content for Curtin’s Agricola accommodation at the Kalgoorlie Campus. This includes the development of content to enhance the current student housing experience and marketing collateral to support short-stay accommodation.
Responsibilities include  

  • Plan, develop and implement communications strategies to support student experience  
  • Research, write and edit digital communications for a variety of audiences across one or more channels, including websites, social media, screen networks and direct 1:1 communications. 
  • Work collaboratively with Curtin stakeholders to ensure relevant content is consistently surfaced across other Curtin digital channels. 
  • Innovatively use a variety of digital media tools to convey relevant messages and information. 
  • Ensure all written content is of high quality and is aligned with Curtin’s vison, mission and values. 
  • Ensure all content developed follows the correct QA process.  
  • Report, analyse and optimize all content produced and share results with relevant stakeholders. 
  • Develop and deliver Crisis Management communications as and when required.

We are looking for someone with 

  • Completion of a relevant degree and /or relevant experience. 
  • Proven ability to plan, implement and evaluate communication and engagement strategies. 
  • Professional writing skills, with experience in developing and delivering digital content. 
  • Proven competency in use of relevant digital media tools and platforms. 
  • Proven data analysis skills to draw actionable insights and improve future communications. 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills with the ability to produce and present results to key stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Problem-solving and organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and multiple projects to meet deadlines. 
  • Experience in a tertiary education environment or a large and complex organisation (desirable)
