The most unexpected conversations will lead to great things. Your work could lead to a student being given the opportunity to study at the oldest university in Australia thanks to a donation towards scholarship support or assist engineers to create robotic platforms designed to make agriculture more productive and sustainable. As part of this program, you will:
gain exposure to the depth and breadth of Advancement through comprehensive on-the-job rotational training including Development, Community Giving, Planned Giving, and Prospect Development
learn best-practice fundraising fundamentals alongside an impressive team of advancement professionals, academics and researchers
be guided by two mentors with extensive experience in philanthropy.
a natural relationship builder - you enjoy interacting with people one-on-one and fostering relationships with people at different levels and from different cultures
excellent communication skills, both listening and written in order to develop compelling proposals that align to a prospective donor's interests
strategic in their vision and can plan months, sometimes even years in advance
highly developed emotional intelligence - you are self-aware with exceptional interpersonal skills
a high-achiever and naturally driven by success both professionally and personally
legally entitled to work in Australia for more than two years (Australian or New Zealand Citizen, or an Australian Permanent Resident).

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
