About the position

The Desktop/AV Engineer will provide second level support, performing hardware and software installation, testing installations, maintenance and upgrades to all Desktop equipment, including PC’s, Mac’s, peripherals and mobile devices (e.g. phones and tablets), AV equipment in our teaching spaces, computer laboratories and meeting spaces.

 They will evaluate customer needs, document requirements, build and support custom computer systems.

Travel between campuses may be required.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience consolidating the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing 1st and 2nd level support as part of a team, in a medium to large-sized organisation and across an extensive range of applications and technologies, in a Microsoft Active Directory Environment.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and the Microsoft Office 365 suite (and desirable to also have Mac and Linux operating system experience) and AV technologies and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated customer service focus and solution-orientated approach.
  • Demonstrated excellence in prioritising tasks and in responding to changing tasks and priorities.
