In an exciting era of future orientated leadership and service delivery model, we are looking to appoint a Deputy Director: People Services to lead our newly formed People Services portfolio. The portfolio comprises key strategic facing functions of Recruitment Central, Payroll Services and People Central.

About the Role

The Deputy Director: People Services is a newly created role operating as a key member of the People, Talent and Culture executive team, playing an integral role in the delivery of the University’s people strategy by providing innovative, integrated and solution focused services that enable our people and provide them with an exceptional employee experience.

As a strategic leader, motivated to deliver service excellence and continuous improvement, you will be responsible for providing coordinated and people-focused services across talent acquisition and mobility, core HR operations and Payroll Services. Setting the direction for the People Services portfolio, as the Deputy Director: People Services, you will be setting the direction for the People Services team, enabling the development and delivery of contemporary, customer focussed services aligned to the University’s strategic goals.

About you

You are energetic, practical, pragmatic and outcomes oriented. You love people and are motivated to see them achieve their full potential. Your approach successfully engages leaders and managers across the organisation, building lasting relationships which enables a business partnering model that is efficient, effective and high quality. With a proven track record of leading and supporting enterprise-wide talent acquisition and core HR services and functions whilst delivering on strategic objectives, you will be excited by the scale and complexity of our organisation and the challenge of establishing a new service delivery model. To be successful in the position you will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant experience in building, leading, and managing client focussed teams, preferably having established a service centre in a diverse, aspirational, multi divisional organisation
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally at postgraduate level, in a business discipline such as human resources, organisational psychology or other relevant field
  • Demonstrated high level ability to collaboratively develop high-level plans and strategies that clearly define required outcomes, coupled with high level ability to drive the delivery of results.
