PRIMARY DETAIL

We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Operations Manager to manage, plan and deliver operational and administrative services within the Department of Linguistics, as part of the broader operational services delivery model within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences.

THE ROLE

•    Salary Package: HEW 8 ($109,553-$121,901), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
•    Appointment Type: Full time/Part-time, continuing position
•    Location: Macquarie University (North Ryde)

We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Operations Manager to manage, plan and deliver operational and administrative services within the Department of Linguistics, as part of the broader operational services delivery model within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences. 

Reporting to the Head of Faculty Operations, and working closely with the Head of Department, the School Operations Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the Department of Linguistics and management of the delivery and implementation of programs and services.

The position will manage a team of 2 professionals and support the Department with day-to-day organisational and operational services and administration. About You

To succeed in this position, you will be passionate about delivering operational excellence and take an innovative and collaborative approach to operational management. With a strong business and financial acumen, you will have a proven track record of strong relationship management skills, embracing and fostering change and leading a high-performing team on multiple concurrent programs and services. Experience and knowledge of the Education sector (preferably Higher Education) would be an advantage.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification/s and or equivalent extensive experience;

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in building and leading high performing teams to delivery organisational outcomes;

  • Demonstrated ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels with organisational skills to ensure the delivery and implementation of programs and services;

  • Proven ability to provide leadership and encourage a collaborative, cooperative and service-oriented work environment including the capacity to embrace and foster change;

  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical, problem solving and research skills and ability to develop innovative solutions;

  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders;

  • Proven ability to exercise initiative and autonomous judgement and negotiate positive outcomes;

  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial and physical resources.
