Your new role

Curtin University’s School of Nursing, is currently seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist to provide quality administrative assistance to students, patients and the clinical team based at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OCHWA) in Nedlands.   The OCHWA is a state of the art dental teaching and learning facility offering a full range of general and speciality dental services to the Western Australian community.

Working alongside an enthusiastic and loyal team, you will provide support for the program’s teaching and learning and community service programs, including sourcing and booking in patients for the Clinic.  Additionally, you will prepare clinical reports to support the practitioners students by responding to queries.

Key duties and responsibilities include:


  • Managing and maintaining daily patient appointments, reschedules and enquiries.
  • Creation of and maintenance of confidential patient files.
  • Maintain all equipment and upkeep of stock levels and undertake necessary orders.
  • Mail management; receiving and responding to internal and external correspondence.
  • Clinical support including preparing letters and medical reports as required.
  • Provide information and assistance to the public, students, and staff, seeking assistance from colleagues as required

Key Requirements:


  • Completion of Year 12 secondary school education with demonstrated dental clinic experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated organisation skills with accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with skills in the use of a variety of applications including word processing, spreadsheets and database packages.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to show motivation and initiative

You will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role, a current Working with Children Check.  This position is subject to the WA state government vaccination mandate, therefore you will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status prior to employment.
