Overview
The International Business Operations team is responsible for the recruitment of international students to ECU and to manage relationships with over 300 international education agencies, partners and onshore Australian pathway institutions to drive international student commencements to ECU. 

We are seeking suitably qualified applicants for the position of Dean, International Business Operations who will be responsible for leading a team to provide strategic advice to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International and Vice President, and other members of the University Executive to inform the international strategy at ECU.

The Role
This position reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, International and Vice President and is a leadership role responsible for key internationalisation objectives within ECU’s strategic plan. The position is instrumental for leading the development and management of a range of international, commercial and business partnerships within the International Portfolio.

Key Criteria

  • Significant experience, including leadership roles, in various levels of the international education ecosystem, with a specific focus in partnership management, business development and growth strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, setting up, developing and managing resources in a global business environment, preferably within the Higher Education sector
  • Strong track-record of business improvement through innovative and agile strategies and tactics
  • Demonstrated experience in identification and development of new offshore market opportunities in higher education
  • Strategic mindset and long-term vision to support the holistic growth and evolvement of the University’s internationalisation
  • The ability to understand and interpret the internal and external forces affecting business environments, with advanced skills to trouble-shoot and implement changes and improvements
  • Authentic, clear and empathetic way of communicating, combined with exceptional verbal and visual presentation skills, including to senior level external and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment towards the completion of predetermined objectives and targets
  • The ability to influence the decisions, actions or perceptions of a range of stakeholders.
