The role

The successful appointee will support the Industrial Systems Biology initiative at AIBN. The Data Scientist/modeller will design, support and execute studies for multi-omics integration including proteomics, metabolomics and genome scale models as part of the Queensland node of Metabolomics and Proteomics. A successful candidate will be a person who enjoys diving deep into data, doing analysis, discovering root causes, and designing long-term solutions by interpreting multi-omics datasets.

The person

Applicants must have a PhD in Systems Biology, Bioengineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.  They will have a demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of multi-omics analyses.  The successful appointee will have previous experience in GSM or ML or a data scientist role and a track record of building ML or GSM models.  An ability to establish effective relationships and to represent and promoted the academic discipline at a University and wider community level is also essential.

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 12 months at Academic Research Level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545 - $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408 - $102,416 p.a.).
